BSE Sensex to start higher; Tata Motors watched

MUMBAI (Reuters) – The BSE Sensex is seen starting higher on Monday as investors continue
to build long positions in frontline stocks ahead of the budget early next week.
The market is expected to extend the gains from the previous week, but the rise may be limited on
weak cues from other Asian markets and the overhang of a delayed monsoon, traders said.
"This is the final week before the budget, and people would like to play on long (positions) on
concrete expectations from the budget," said S.P. Tulsian, an independent investment analyst.
He expects the main index to rise between 100-150 points.
On Friday, the 30-share BSE index rose 2.9 percent to 14,764.64 points, its best close in almost
two weeks, as investors scooped up bargains after a more than 7 percent fall in the previous two
weeks.
