Newly appointed Chairman of the National Unique Identity Development Authority of India,
Nandan Nilekani on Monday said checking duplicate identities would be the biggest
challenge of the Unique ID project.
"The key issue is to ensure there are no duplicates. The problem with existing identity
systems is that there are a lot of duplicates," Nilekani, who is likely to take over as NUIDAI
Chairman this week week, said at a felicitation ceremony organised by Karnataka Chief Minister
B S Yeddyurappa.
