The 6 phases of web marketing

When web marketing is implemented correctly and completely, it has six different stages. These phases will be described in the following sections and illustrated with examples.

1. Capture Phase

The first phase of web marketing is what can be called "Capture phase." The purpose of this phase is very simple, it is to get visitors to your site. But unless you have a site that lives only in the number of visits and through advertisements (such as portals or Ezines) you can not believe that anyone who comes visiting. You are on the Internet to do business, to sell products or services, and what you are looking for is the potential customers. These customers, we can call them "customers" value-added ", here are three ways to get them to visit your site.

A. People are discovering the places first and foremost, thanks to search engines. One of the reports of Ernst & Young ", which indicates that half of those who purchased on the Internet have found their product through search engines. You will have to learn how to optimize your placement in search engines.

B. The other way that can be found on the Internet via a link. You can register either in an exchange program of banners or create your own reciprocal links to other sites. To detect persons associated with you, try the request form at Infoseek, the "link: www.yourdomain.com"

C. Use the banners and advertisements on the websites of a large audience is really popular. The response rate did not always follow up against. Each population, reacts each country more or less differently depending on the type of banners. Some designs, one form or another, some text can give a positive reaction in France, no reaction in Quebec, and a normal reaction in Belgium. You should know from the start, what audience you want to target for the design of the banner and the choice of site or advertisement is made.

2. Phase Control

This may be the most difficult phase. Website should reflect the needs and aspirations of your visitors, and do not anticipate the benefits and qualities of your products. To simplify, your site must be a mirror of your visitors, and not a presentation of your business. Here are a few features taken into account to facilitate verification of your visitors.

A. Each of your unique visitors with his own knowledge of the Internet. Do not take any experiment ignorant and the beginner, to a specialist. Therefore proposes several approaches.

B. Repeat this website promotes the interest of your visitors. It is their desire to go further, learn more about you, your products.

C. Give enough choices for your guests to match as often as possible to their needs and interests.

3. Qualification Phase

When phase control is done properly and skilfully analyzed the data collected is the result enough to make a solid education for your visitors. This is simply to get your site choices, choices, opportunities, as you learn each time, more of your visitors. A sort of travel that you can separate your visitors into different categories corresponding to your products, services. This is a time to define your visitors if they are "customers" value-added "or not!

A. To create these opportunities may seem very interesting, but it will firstly get rid of a visitor who does not fit the profile of the customer wanted. (for example, to visit directly from your links page, you can certainly be a potential customer).

B. also lead to very specific choices that correspond to a request, have a potential for individual well-defined. What is necessary to do is separate your visitors according to their needs ... those who go to see the story does not interest you and the other, they must be separated to better understand, better appreciate and respond to their needs by offering the product is most suitable.

4. Constraint phase.

This new phase aims to motivate your customers added value "to do what you want them to do. It can be: join your mailing list, purchase goods or services, contact you, please make a trial version of software you offer or any other action you deem important in your sales. We can consider that there are three basic actions that you want to see your "customer" value-added "to do here in order of priority:

A. Buy. If you do your work while the needs of your visitors in your proposal of products, your customer buys force believed in one visit or two, he will begin the cycle is a purchase if it is not possible to buy your product or service online.

B. Register. Make your registration as an easy and accessible throughout your site.

Bookmark C. It is surprising how few sites suggest that their visitors to add their bookmarks. However, rule number one of all marketing strategy is "if you want someone to do something, tell him to do it."

5. Phase of Contact.

When your visitors leave your site, what is the program and tactics developed to recontact? How do you turn enough to return? Do you have a simple, practical, no maintenance work to keep in touch and be accepted by your visitors? Here is one approach to response.

A. A warning via e-mail when your site is updated. There are many sites that offer Perl scripts that have this feature, and of course free.

B. For your customers potentially important, you can give them a little custom page on your site. It is not much, it did not ask enormenent of your document and allows for further tightening of links!

C. Finally, a monthly magazine that you send via e-mail is an important communication tool.

6. Phase Capture.

This last phase is the same as the first with a small difference. We must bring back your visitors, but why not bring them back to sites that are tailored exactly to their needs. You are, for example, a publisher, you can edit all kinds of books, but among other books on the history of France. Take back your customers are interested in this subject at a site just dedicated to the history books!

Their activity, the nature of your potential customers, the structure of your sales cycle, the price of your product (and a dozen other strategic elements) are all important points, which allows you to determine the tactics used to manage your site.

Method in 6 stages, you must use to detect the majority of possible situations and planned by a company wanting to do web marketing.
