As much as my next Breath

We've all been there. We can not see straight, because we are so angry. Perhaps, we are gripped by fear. It does not matter what the feeling is. When we are overwhelmed with a difficult feeling, it's easy to react and get us into a frenzy - makes things infinitely worse for ourselves and those around us. Why not try something different?

Breathing can be one of the most effective tools to transform negative emotions. Yogis have known for thousands of years that the secret to controlling your mind is to check the weather. We have to breathe anyway, why not take advantage of the weather in a way that enables us to be more potent, quiet and efficient man?

When I studied ayurvedic medicine, I have learned many different breathing techniques. Today, I will show you a fantastic one to cool your emotions in a few minutes. Come on-I will guide you through it.

We could breathe only through the left nostril. When we breathe through the left nostril, we are clearing the right hemisphere, which is also considered the subconscious part of your brain. The right brain (unconsciously) is where the emotions and images are located.

Here we go:

1. Place the right thumb on the right nostril, closing it down.
2. Inhale through the left nostril.
3. Exhale long and slow through the left nostril, imagine releasing negative feelings as dark energy draining out of the body.
4. Inhale visualization of a golden light passes through the nose to the right part of the brain, filling it with brilliant golden light.

You can do this for 26 rounds. Or if you are in an emergency, try it for a few rounds and it will immediately calm you down and move how you react to the situation at hand. You can also do this before you have a difficult meeting or a phone call, you should do. Just try it, right now. Remember to use it when you encounter situations that provoke difficult feelings. Have a wonderful weekend!
