History:
Captain Morgana story concerns the way back to the 17th century, when Captain Henry Morgan was appointed Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica. With Seagram Co. begins production of rum in 1944 under the name, The Captain Morgan Rum, it has risen in popularity and is currently under Diageo Management has been able to achieve the third largest brand in the U.S. and the seventh largest in the world.
Process:
Captain Morgan Rum is made or distilled from sugar cane. When the central stem of the cane is cut into small pieces in the sugar factories and crushed between large rollers to pull its sweet juice, rum process starts then himself. The juice thus formed is boiled, which allows moisture to evaporate, leaving the sugar crystallization. When sugar crystals are separated, there is still a sweet black liquid called molasses as raw material base for Captain Morgan Rum. These molasses is boiled again and then mixed with yeast and water and allowed to ferment, and then set to distil.
Captain Morgana rum is fermented for about three weeks and distilled twice and then matured for several years. To strengthen the color and enrich the flavor, some caramel is added to it. After aging for a long time with a minimum of about a year some island spices of the Caribbean islands, is added in the last phase of the rum mixture to give it a unique flavor and characteristics associated with the mark of Captain Morgana Space.
