Virgin Mobile launches Services in South India


Global Telecom giant, Virgin Mobile entered into a partnership with Tata Teleservices (TTSL) to launch value-added-services (VAS), including voice services in parts of South India. The service will be available in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Virgin Mobile is planning to expand its network to other parts of the country soon. The voice calls are priced at 20 paise per minute for local and STD calls made toVirgin Mobile numbers.

Similarly, local calls made to other networks will cost 40 paise per minute and STD calls made to other network will cost 50 paise per minute.

Sir Richard Branson is the Chairman and Founder of the Virgin Group. Virgin wants to explore the vast GSM market in India, which adds around 1.5 crore subscribers every month.
