We got up this morning thinking about how much uncontrolled dog barking really bothered me. This is because the laying awake listening to my neighbor's crazy pack of dogs barking at the coyotes all night long. we had all night to think of the many nearby dogs suffering from a variety of barking questions. It was clear that my normally peaceful neighborhood, has more than its share of occasional dog barking madness.
Below we have listed several of the very common reasons your dog may have a problem with excessive barking behavior. So if your dog is suffering from one of these problems with barking too much, you have to work with him to fix it. It is unfortunate that this is a problem that will not stop until you take the time to work with your pet to fix it.
* Dogs will often start their barking routine when they spot another dog or a stranger comes into their field view. This behavior is easy to understand because it is very natural for a dog to want to protect his family and territory from others. This becomes a problem if the dog does not stop his barking after, even after the stimulus has been long gone. When the dog no longer sees the object of his barking, he gets some positive feedback thinking that his barking has scared it away.
* Many times the problems start when the dog begins with a long distance conversation with other neighborhood dogs, who just goes on too long. If your dog likes to engage in this type of excessive barking, you can train him to cut it out. Excessive dog barking is a problem, you should not ignore, especially since all that unnecessary barking is annoying for you (and your neighbors too).
* Dogs that have been stressed and insecure is far more likely to bark even for insignificant reasons. Because they just do not feel safe in their surroundings, they will bark out of nervousness. This problem reoccurs frequently during the day or night, unless the master is the dog to comfort it. A friend of mine had a dog who was so nervous, we actually make it to bark furiously at a leaf that fell from a tree. Now it was a very nervous dog. It does not take a leap of imagination to realize that the dog barked all the time, for nothing.
* If a dog is bored and lonely enough that he can start a barking rant, just to let all others know how he feels. The most likely dogs to develop this type of problem barking behavior are those who often are left to themselves a lot of the time, with no stimulation through a game, with exercise and training.
* Occasionally, your dog can bark non-stop for you to play with them or feed them or something, and he will not stop until he gets it, whether you're already working on something else. If this is the case even though he really does not respect you as alpha dog, or he would not try it. problem with allowing this to happen is that your dog's mind, he is training you, not the other way around. We have been through it with my Lab, she likes to bark at me when she was bored and wanted to play, she tried to educate myself, and did a good job with it-until we learned better and stopped responding .
