Abstract painting and Jackson Pollock are similar

Abstract painting is a different kind of art form and how depictions are not real, but which nonetheless represent accurate visual depictions of certain scenes, and even objects. Actually abstract painting only became popular in the twentieth century, but today it has evolved into an iconic art form with some famous artists (Jackson Pollock and Piet Mondrian himself) to take it to a whole new level.

Much of abstract painting revolves around concepts such as shape and texture and even color are used in a manner in which each element has its own intrinsic value and is able to provoke in the minds of the viewer response to depictions of unreal or not - realistic and even unidentifiable objects and scenes. 

The origins of abstract painting can be traced back to the nineteenth century, when the first Impressionism and then post-impression became popular and there were works of art, putting more on the use of style and color instead of the truth of the representation of objects and scenes. Famous painters such as Monet and Seurat and Cezanne was a motivating factor for these movements and they began to emphasize the inherent artistic ideas that helped to create more original works of art. 

It was only in the twentieth century, that abstract painting was popular, and also in the western world and at that time there was much debate about the pros and cons. In any event, it is a form of painting that uses variable techniques and media and categorization of various paintings as abstract or semi-abstract may prove to be difficult, misleading and also somewhat confusing.
