Alice in Chains Dirt Album and Group - An Overview

A famous American grunge band is Alice in Chains. Their second album was called Alice in Chains Dirt. Here's more about both the group and album. 

The group got their start long before you create Alice in Chains Dirt. They started in Seattle, Washington in 1987. It was considered a grunge band, but also incorporates heavy metal elements. They rose to fame in the early 1990s grunge movement. During the 1990s, they sold over 14 million albums in the U.S... They were number one on the Billboard 200 times. They had 11 top singles. Moreover, there were six Grammy Award nominations. 

Before production Alice in Chains Dirt group was quite fertile. They signed with Columbia Records in 1989 and became a top priority for this label. After an early success with their first release in 1990 Columbia crashed their first album in production. Facelift that the album was released on 21 August 1990. It reached number 42 on the Billboard 200 It sold only 40,000 copies in the first six months. But after MTV featured a single from the album, sold 400,000 copies in just six weeks. It was both a critical and retail success. 

Alice in Chains Dirt is a great deal with addiction and depression. One of the band members had been heavily dependent on various drugs. He had been in rehab. When he got out of rehab, he says he went back to using heroin. There are also claims that some of the band members was high on heroin and marijuana, while recording this album. 

Much of Alice in Chains Dirt album was written while the band was on the road touring. It is not easy to achieve. Thus, this album was much darker than the previous one. So members say that the demons they accumulated during the day was prepared, as they wrote and played their music. 

The album cover of Alice in Chains Dirt was developed by one of the band members. It included his girlfriend on the front. All liked it. The album was completed in June 1992. It made it as far as number six on Billboard's Top 200th The album made the group quite famous. It was confirmed four times platinum in the U.S., platinum in Canada and gold in England

Alice in Chains Dirt has been a part of music history. Many people consider it a masterpiece.
