Beef can be a healthy option

We are constantly told what we should eat, what to eat, or how often we should or should not eat it, and with the hundreds of diet regimes (many of whom are supported by familiar faces with fabulous physiques) is a wonder how people know how to feed ourselves at all!

A confusing issue that comes up quite often to eat beef and other red meat. It may be that we are struggling with this one because it's just so delicious, and there are not many people who would not drool at the mention of a juicy beef steak. But the conflicting recommendations can be found in magazines, on the World Wide Web and on television about eating beef means that it has become a guilty pleasure and health-conscious that the ordinary citizen on the street, may choose to avoid it at all costs, or use 4 hours down the gym trying to 'burn out'.

"To eat beef on a daily basis is bad for you, and it sits in your stomach advice long after you've eaten it. Red meat contributes to heart disease and is full of unhealthy fats."

Sound familiar?

How about if I told you that red meat may be perfectly healthy and that you can eat steak every day if you want. You see, the key to a healthy diet is just about moderation and getting the balance right. It is not eating red meat is the problem, it is the quality of this beef, and what you eat with it.

Avoid: red meat, processed and contain additives Oak Burgers, frozen meat, SPAM (yuk!), Etc..

Instead: Opt for organic, fresh, pasture-raised beef

Avoid: Eating bread with beef, for example, Hamburgers

Instead: Serve fresh lettuce and vegetables with beef. These contain enzymes that break down fat deposits.

It is easy to prepare a health Steak dinner:

   1. Buy some organic beef from a trusted dealer

   2. Grill or cook in their own juice for but you like it

   3. Add a large part of one of the following fat-busting foods: Asparagus, Beets / Beetroot, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, celery, cucumbers, garlic, lettuce, radishes, horseradish, tomato.

If you want to keep it healthy, but add more flavor to your steak? Simply add the crushed peppercorns, crushed garlic, mixed herbs, rosemary or other herbs during cooking. Alternative marinade the steak prior cooking using your own blend of herbs and natural yoghurt. Yum!
