Healthy pigeons

It may be a truism, but as with all animals, cleanliness and hygiene is of utmost importance if you want it to remain healthy, so it is very important that you keep your loft as clean as possible at all times.

The most important element in this is with regard to food and water. Would you eat food that was contaminated with your own mess, or drink water that you knew was not fresh? Well, you might, but it would not do you much good, especially if you were expected to run a marathon or win the sprint race.

Pigeons are susceptible to many diseases caused by parasites and fungi that develop in excrement and thrive in unclean and particularly humid environments.

Many diseases are not necessarily easily visible symptoms, and not having too much influence on the overall health of bird, but will lead to a decrease in performance and allow that to happen through poor hygiene is unforgivable because it can be avoided if

you are willing to put effort into Moisture is the biggest problem, because it is a breeding ground for bacteria and parasites, so do everything to keep the ceiling dry especially where there is food. Many farmers actually use cat litter also disinfects and removes moisture. If you do, you must ensure that you keep it fresh and change it often, but it is a good tip.

So never throw food on the floor and always keep feeding areas clean and dry. Change water at least once a day, and remove all foods not been eaten. If there is food left so you're probably over feeding anyway, so cut the amount down.
