How much alcohol should include Absinthe?

There has been much controversy about Thujone levels of Absinthe, and Absinthe can really make you hallucinate, but what about its alcohol content - How much alcohol is in Absinthe?

All commercial alcoholic beverages are labeled to show their alcohol content, so people can make informed decisions about drinking them and how much to consume.

Measuring the alcohol content is performed by a hydrometer. A hydrometer looks partly like a fishing float with an attached thermometer. The direction of the hydrometer is upright when put into liquid. The water line will be at the level marked 1, after putting it in water. the water becomes denser when it is placed in sugared water and the water level rises. When the hydrometer is used in fermentation of alcohol float moves lower as the sugar is eaten by the yeast. The original gravity and final gravity of alcohol is measured while preparing it.

Alcohol is known by the following formula
The formula is the Original Gravity - Final Gravity x 131 = alcohol.

Label used for alcoholic beverages in the EU and U.S. but some countries are using evidence. The proof is near about double alcohol.

Different brands of Absinthe have different alcohol content. Consider the following statistics: --

Lucid Absinthe 62% volt (124 proof)
La Clandestine Absinthe 53% volt (106 proof)
Alcohol content is found to be 55% in Sebor
You may get 60% volt in Pere Kerman
Research shows that Pernod Absinthe contains 68% alcohol by volume
You may get 70% volume alcohol in Mari Mayans Collectors 70
Information about La Fee Absinthe XS Suisse 53% volume (106 proof)

What is La Fee Bohemian 70% volume (140 proof)

Jade Edouard 72% volume (144 proof)
Knowledge of the Jade Verte Suisse 65% volume (130 proof)
Jade Nouvelle Orleans 68% volume (136 proof)

As you can see Absinthe can vary from 53% volt to 75% by volume, a very big difference. Let us now compare these levels of other alcoholic beverages: --

Absolut Blue Vodka 40% volt (80 proof)
The volume percentage is 38 in Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila
Beer is available with 4 or 5% alcohol.
Table wine is available with 9-12% alcohol (18-24 proof).
The alcohol is 40% of Johnnie Walker Black Label Scotch Whiskey.
Everclear 95% volume (190 proof)

No other alcoholic beverages seem to get close to Absinthe!

There may be differences in alcohol content of homemade Absinthe. A person can confuse an Absinthe essence from AbsintheKit.A person can see a big difference in strength of Absolut vodka and Everclear.

Absinthe was banned in the 1900s because of claims that Thujone, the chemical in wormwood, was as THC in the drug cannabis, and that it was psychoactive and caused psychedelic effects. Although they claim that Absinthe is a hallucinogenic drug is completely wrong, but we must not forget that excess drinking of alcohol can be harmful. As people in Memphis have understood this, so Memphis was the city who drank alcohol at least in the U.S. in the year 2006.

Although alcohol is fine if consumed in moderate amounts, but you should know about alcohol content of Absinthe and other beverages.
