Some other things to do

At first you have to decide how mature your child is. Generally, children less than 7-8 years old, is not prepared to care for a pet, there is obviously some exceptions, when some children behave more responsibly than their peers. First see how your child and a bird will feel and interact together to visit a breeder or a pet store. Notice how long your child's attention will be kept by the bird, and whether he or she reacts badly if it is bitten example. Otherwise, the birds You will be your responsibility. You have to be sure that your child is in accordance with the care of the birds as they need daily attention and social interaction. Remind your child what his responsibilities will be: cleaning the cage daily changing water, feeding and so on. Children usually promise to do it, but often forget, so you have to remind them to keep their word, unless you or your pet bird to suffer.

What about noise? Some of the birds singing and talking all day. There is obviously some kind of birds are quieter, but even they tend to be more pronounced if they live in homes with children, perhaps because they respond to children's voices. If the volume is a problem, then you need to select those that are less noisy.

Children are often not aware of birds is fragile and can easily damage or even kill their pets when they blow it or move carelessly. The risk is higher if the bird is small. With larger birds, there is another risk - that the child may be bitten or frightened by them. Your children should be aware of this risk and to be very careful not to be prejudiced to keep the animals away from their faces.

We hope that all this has helped you to determine whether birds are good for you and your child or to try another pet.
