Rajput organisation vows to educate girls

To survive in the present era, the Rajput community has decided to send their girls to schools. To welcome education in the community in Rajasthan and to bring women out of ghunghat (veil), Shir Kshatriay Pratibha Vikas Avam Shodh Sansthan on Sunday honored hundreds of students, especially girls of the community who scored high marks. Two girls were honoured for getting admission in medical colleges.

Welcoming the step by the community, Union heavy industries minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said, “Girls are key to social uplift and an educated girl benefits two families, one of her father and the other of her husband.” To encourage education in the community, he said, was the best decision ever taken by the organisation.

“The time has come when this martial community will rise up again and that can be done through education only,” he said. “Our motto is to take the girls to school.
