A selection of Ballroom Dances

Dance is something we all enjoy in any form. Wherever it is, whether at a party with others or all by your lonesome at home, good music is a way to get feet tapping and bodies moving. Ballroom dancing is all the world over as an art, fun to do as well as beautiful to behold. 

Even now there are some dances that fall under the category of ballroom dancing, it started with just a few. Seen as a pastime and a competitive sport, ballroom dancing is enhanced by the skill and have a partner bring them. Originally ballroom dances were an elite dance form, folk dancing from being relegated to the poorer levels of society. Last, but ballroom dancing has become popular among people from all walks of life as a supplement to their social skill set. Its growing popularity has brought more people to dance studios, hoping to learn to dance so beautifully by the experts. Ballroom dancing requires a lot of agility, physical strength, concentration and coordination from both men and women, and it is no wonder then that some look at ballroom dancing as a source of exercise, but in a much more fun way! 

Two official styles of ballroom dancing accepted into the United States. These are American Rhythm and American Smooth. Ballroom dancing in Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Viennese Waltz fall into the first category - American Smooth. These are all the dance styles that are considered classic. The American rhythm include dances like Cha Cha, Rumba, Mambo, Bolero and East Coast Swing. These more modern ballroom dancing, will benefit from contributions from the latin American influence. Ballroom dancing has come a long way, not only in time but throughout the world, becoming more popular in Asia

Like any old thing that has survived the ravages of time, bring ballroom dancing with them a sense of timeless elegance, and it is certainly something to say that you know how to waltz or tango. Ballroom dancing is an elegant and beautiful dance form that can make anyone, even the most awkward person, like a star, and it's an experience none of us wants to miss.
