Lots of people play alto sax as an obsession, playing instruments, professional and makes a living out of it. A few may just be playing saxophone for fun or a hobby, a matter of interest, which has evolved through the years. No matter what the reason is a desire to play sax, it is a certainty that in order to play all types of saxophone, you must acquire the skills and techniques needed. Understandably, a clear understanding of the basics is important. 

Knowing about saxophone playing on a theoretical level may also prove useful as it provides a basic work to promote an interest and knowledge of the instrument. But then again, all these are not enough if you really want to play saxophone with ease. To develop your skills and learn the techniques needed to practice playing the instrument and, ultimately, play it with ease requires practice. It just means that we must begin to play the instrument for real.

For beginners, the main motivation or purpose for the purchase and play saxophone learn to play it. The primary focus is therefore the acquisition of basic skills and techniques, which of course would eventually lead to the acquisition of advanced skills and techniques to better play the instrument.
