The refreshed Volvo S80 sedan is powered by a D5 Twin-Turbo diesel engine. The engine has several advanced technical features including Twin Turbo and Peizo high-pressure technology.
The engine is believed to with high quality performance and low fuel consumption. The car's CO2 emission stands at 203gms/km while fuel consumption is at 13.1 kmpl. The engine has an out put of offers 205 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque.
The engine has a diesel particulate filter which effectively reduces soot particles in exhaust gases along with emission control that controls nitrogen oxide level. These features have already made the engine comply with upcoming Euro 5 exhaust emission requirements.
The interior of the car is distinct and have clean surfaces, harmonious lines, exciting contrasts and smooth function and its seats are very comfortable. Volvo IAQS (Interior Air Quality System) reduces the amount of particles, pollen, gases and certain unpleasant odours to enter the passenger area.
The exteriors include chrome detailing on lower part of the door mouldings, exhaust, under the tail lamps and on the air intakes which gives the car a distinct and dynamic look.
The car will be available in nine colours and it comes with a price tag of Rs. 38.79 lakh (Ex-showroom Mumbai) & Rs. 37 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi).
In another development Volvo Auto India has also announced that it will expand it dealership network from current seven to 12 by December. Presently, the company has dealers in the cities of Chandigarh, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Chennai and Pune.
"We are planning to launch two new models -- the Volvo XC60 and S60 -- in the next two years in India. The XC60 will be launched in 2010 and S60 will be unveiled by the end of 2011," said Volvo Auto India Managing Director Paul de Voijs.
