The Telangana agitation returned to haunt Osmania University after a chemical engineering student committed suicide allegedly for the separate state cause on the campus on Tuesday afternoon.
Meegada Sai Kumar Yadav, a 20-year-old second-year student of OU's College of Technology and native of Kapugallu village near Kodad in Nalgonda district, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his hostel room by his friends around 11.20 am.
The friends immediately took him on a two-wheeler for medical help when the police rushed in and bundled Sai in an 108 ambulance and got him admitted to Gandhi Hospital where he was declared brought dead just after noon. Sai left behind a suicide note in Telugu, which stated that politicians should not be trusted and that the youth should take over the Telangana movement. He also wanted his body taken in a funeral procession to Gun Park near the state assembly.
