Dinesh Karthik said it was tips from his Delhi Daredevils captain Gautam Gambhir that helped him come up with a match-winning knock of 69 against Rajasthan Royals here Wednesday.
“It was new track, so Gautam asked me to delay the shots. It helped me adjust to the slow nature of the track and score runs,” said Karthik.
Daredevils were reeling at 67 for four and it was the 79—run partnership between Gambhir (43) and Karthik that helped them to get to a total of 188 for six in 20 overs.
