Motion to purchase the highest quality Horse Trailers for your horse

Too often people buy a horse trailer used based on appearance. This is probably not the ideal way to buy a used horse trailer. When you buy a used horse trailer, you will always look at it from the horse's point of view. You want to find the perfect horse trailer, so your horse will be comfortable during transport.

The correct trailer will also prevent your horse from getting sick while on the road. Horses that are unpleasant during transport will be able to do well in a competition or a show. The total welfare and happiness of your horse also needs to be a consideration. First you must think about how much space your horse will have when it is in the trailer. Horses are typically between 15 and 16.5 hands high.

You want a trailer that gives your horse about ten feet of foot room. You want enough width of the trailer so it can move around while traveling. There are many different types of horse trailers for sale. The main difference in most of them are how the horse stands inside the trailer.

The cheapest type of horse trailer is a stock trailer. Stock trailers are usually comfortable for the horses that are not too large. If you have a great horse, you should consider buying a straight horse trailer, where the horse stands up. Turning load trailers have horses at an angle and is good for the small horses. In any type of trailer you want to ensure that the horse has adequate ventilation. Any horse trailer you buy, must have air strips at eye height of horse. You will have sufficient lighting in the trailer to prevent the horse to panic. You want to make a thorough inspection of the floor of the horse trailer and make sure it is not worn out. Another thing to look at is the ramp as a worn-out ramp will be slippery. Inspect the trailer for any frayed areas which can harm a horse.
