The Geneva Motor show saw the curtains rising to reveal Nissan’s fourth generation car, The Micra. This high tech ultra modern car is expected to hit the Indian roads very soon. It will be manufactured in the Chennai unit of Nissan.
Micra is on the V- Platform and has been designed and tested in Japan. Nissan is planning to manufacture it in Thailand, India, Mexico and China to cater for the world markets. This cute car with great looks will be sold in over 160 countries globally.
It has a 5 speed manual transmission and is also available in the CVT segment. An 80 HP 1.2 liter engine will power the car. A second option with a supercharged 1.2 direct-injection three-cylinder engine is also available which will produce 98 HP. These engines are highly fuel efficient and will cut off at traffic lights to save fuel. It has special safety features to protect you in case of a crash.
A welcome feature for the Indian markets is parking sensors that will be attached to help you park on tight Indian roads. It is also expected to appeal to the European markets.
