Sleuths from India to quiz JeM ultras in B’desh

A team of sleuths from the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) will soon visit Dhaka to interrogate five Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists to ascertain their role in the terrorist activities in India.

The terrorists who were held in Bangladesh include Belal Mondal alias Nanu Miyan Ilyas, suspected to have a role in the blasts in several Indian cities.

These people were nabbed by Bangladesh’s elite Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) intelligence wing in a swoop on Sukanya Tower, located at Mirpur Road in Dhaka.

Besides Mondal, others arrested were Rizwan Ahmed, a Pakistani national from Karachi, Imazuddin alias Munna, Sadek Hossain alias Khoka and Abu Naser Munshi. Rizwan Ahmed has reportedly admitted that he was working as a coordinator for the JeM in Bangladesh and as a recruiting agent for conducting operations in India. Describing it as an important catch, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram clarified that the role of Mondal in IC-814 hijacking, reported widely by the media, seems to be exaggerated.
