The first step is to observe the wine in sight. To do this, you must pick up the glass. Usually there are many ways to do this.

If you are served with a chilled wine, you should pick up the glass at the stem and not by the bowl. The reason for this is that the palm of your hand is warm. This will warm the wine quickly and will destroy its natural flavor. So if you are served with a chilled wine, never take it out of the bowl. Do not even think about touching the bowl.

If you are served with room temperature wine, so you can keep the glass from the bowl. But as much as possible, you should still take it up the trunk, although the wine served at room temperature.

Once you've picked up the jar and now is in your hand, the next step is studying wine at the sight. Do this by holding it slightly tilted and should be against a white background. If the host of the party who knows what tasting is all about, he or she should cover the table with white linen. This does not only look beautiful but it will also serve its purpose, which you will be able to explore the wine. Just remember to be aware that there is wine in the glass and you should avoid wasting it by tilting the glass too far.

The bouquet is also an important part of tasting wine. Bouquet refers to the smell of wine, and you can even hear people refer to it as the "nose".

To smell wine properly, you need your hand holding the wine at a level position. Then, swirl the wine gently in the bowl. The idea for this law is to expose air into the wine, so wine aroma will escape and become trapped in the portion of the bowl is empty. Then move the glass close to your nose and inhale deeply. Savor the aroma and inhale again. You might want to exhale after inhaling as you may feel dizzy.

After inhalation, it is the right time to comment on. If you do not know what to say because you are inexperienced with wine, so is the safest way to go is to say, plenty of red wine, and light for white wine.

You must remember that tasting wine is not about getting plastered by guzzling all within the tube, but should only take small sips from the glass to catch the flavor. After wine inside your mouth, you should taste the wine by rolling it around your tongue a few times before spitting or swallowing it slowly. Do not forget to exhale.
