Helping your Grocery Bill with cheap Foods

Gourmet foods can be a real treat for all, a juicy steak is something you can look forward to all week or every month, or whatever your favorite dish is. Saving the gourmet food for a special experience and use cheaper food during the week and months will be difficult at first, but you will like your grocery bill. This does not mean that you should always buy low quality cuts of meat or brands and varieties that you dislike, but just make some substitutes of Low Price Cooking foods rather than the most expensive in a few dishes here and can help tremendously. 

As an example, chicken is usually much cheaper than beef. Sometimes it’s as simple as thinking, if you can substitute chicken for beef? Use Budget Cooking food in the pot pies, soups, stews and even chili can shave more dollars off your grocery bill every week, so when you do these elements, consider using chicken or pork instead of beef. You may also cut down on the number of times you serve any kind of beef dish throughout the week and serve a chicken dish instead - use a rotisserie, or put a chicken in the slow cooker with a few vegetables, and so on. Using cheap foods like chicken or pork instead of beef you can save several dollars per week. Explore the seasoning mixes and spice blends available in a supermarket that can really make a very tasty chicken, and of course there are many types of chicken casseroles that you can do so well. 

Vegetables can also be considered Low Cost Cooking foods and can be used in several courts, either as a substitute for meat or the majority of dishes, so you can spend less meat. When you make chili, cut the amount of beef you use in half and add more onions, beans and tomatoes. These are cheap foods that still fill you up so you do not miss meat so much. Make a hearty vegetable stew is a good idea and makes a good lunch throughout the week, especially if you accompany it with some cornbread or biscuits. Vegetable casseroles, soups, and vegetarian casseroles are very cheap food; there can even be made with leftovers or frozen vegetables that can be purchased very cheaply. Usually only a few added ingredients are all that is needed to turn food scraps for tasty dishes seconds! 

Using these types of cheap food, as much as possible can save you an awful lot of money in the long run. There are many spice mixes and blends you can get from the store so you do not have to guess how these dishes tasty. Utensils may also help, like a rotisserie, slow cooker, tabletop grill, and so on. The truth is, you will need to spend some more time to plan your meals with this lower budget food, but the result will be worth it.
