What makes the Croc Pot an excellent Cooking Pot?

Now the evening closes in, its time to step down and grill croc pot to take over. Invented by the Crock-Pot company, croc pot or slow cooker is a low-energy way of cooking a period of several hours. Because the temperature never reaches near boiling point, food becomes tender without losing any of its natural taste or nutritional value. This is a piece of cookware that is excellent for preparing rich stews. The length of cooking time is ideal for complex dishes that rely on binding diverse flavors. And modern croc pots are ultra-economical.

The concept has caught on. Slow cookers are now made by companies as Braun and Morphy Richards, known for their cookware. Their popularity lies in the fact that they follow a "set and forget" type of cooking. It is often almost impossible for modern parents to cook, as all members of the family comes home after school or work. For many, it is the most chaotic time of the day - and the worst time to start preparing dinner.

A crocodile pot allows you to choose the best time to prepare your meal. You can chop your vegetables and prepare your meat in the morning, place it all in the slow cooker and turn it on before you leave the house. The original Croc pots used a simple thermostat to ensure that the meal would cook at the required, even temperature. Modern cooking pots now offer a wealth of features that essentially allow you to expand your culinary Repetoire beyond the limit of simple stews. Some have more complicated temperature control so that food can be kept warm once its cooked automatically. There are slow cookers on the market that automatically turns off when they discover that the joint of meat is cooked. To achieve crisp toppings by programming more advanced slow cookers to rise to high temperatures for the last 15 minutes of their cooking cycle. But if energy savings are your biggest concern, you probably do not want to go for a slow cooker that can cook at high temperatures. A modern, simple croc pot is still the most efficient way to cook food.

There are all shapes and sizes of croc pots, but two of them seem to have become standard. These are the '4-quart 'and the '6-quart', which contains what they say on the tin. If you have a big family and lots of space, a 6-quart is the no-brain ability. But one factor that has made croc pots so popular over the years is the prevalence of 'pot-luck' dinners. For these, a 4-quart croc pot with handles is the ideal choice. Pick up your pot, take it to the party and put it in. A lot of croc pots have a ceramic bowl that you can take away from the stove. The croc pot meal can be served on the board from the porcelain bowl. And because the service pool is quite heavy, it is sufficient to maintain the temperature of food without electricity.

Now that there have been so many croc pots and slow cookers on the market for so long, there are also plenty of recipes to go with them. Once you've learned yourself with the basics, your imagination is the only limitation.
