Carousel opened in 1973 in a converted supermarket, then moved to its present location in 1988. People can watch the show while enjoying dinner, or come-go meal for the benefit of just taking in the show. Over the past few years the quality of production has increased, attracting even more serious professionals from New York theater business. This means that the Carousel Dinner Theater shows are even better than before.

"Wicked" has been a very popular player. This is a story that takes place before the Wizard of Oz and involves many of the witches in this world. From August to November 2008 Carousel invites theater patrons to see the "story that started it all," the original story The Wizard of Oz, presented in a play. This production boasts a colorful Proscenium, which is the frame around the stage, which rotates between sets in place. Playing in 1973 did not have their own blogs.

Because of its proximity to Broadway and pull into New York theater professionals over the years, Carousel Dinner Theater has hosted a wide variety of Broadway productions. In 2008 "The Odd Couple" played there. The theater shows, Annie, Footloose, The Sound of Music, Grease, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and many other productions through the years. It is almost a Broadway off Broadway, where you can enjoy a meal while watching a top quality game. 2009 will be a great season of theater classics as My Fair Lady and brand new plays by High School Musical.
