Exotic Aquarium Plants

What really hurts for a fish-keeper, is the first great tragedy that happens to you - our early freshwater tropical fish experience was not great. It was a very ugly situation that we could have circumvented, but we did not count as "our fault" ...

We had gone away for a long weekend, and yes, you guessed it, the thermostat on the tank heater broke, the temperature of the water rose - the fish was cooked well and truelly ... and my family and we were in tears on our back ...

We was so shocked by the situation that for a while, we kept only plants in our aquarium, we had no heart to add new fish.

Slowly over time we realized how great a well planted tank can be and how exotic plants can do the whole aquarium seems a proper landscape tank adds great visual effects. And of course when you add fish, plants play an important role in aquarium life, as they add oxygen to the water and help to absorb nitrites that are toxic to fish.

Another form of light is mandatory ...

The sun is the main factor in the life of a plant, and in freshwater tropical fish aquarium, lighting is just as central to maintaining health and beauty of plants.

Wayne Walking, Horticulture Specialist, comments that light, it is crucial energy source used by plants in photosynthesis. But light is not just a simple, well-defined unit. The plant response is influenced by light quality, intensity and duration. Experiments show that the maximum growth of most plants under cool white fluorescent light.

Crucial for the quality of plant growth, the quality of the lighting that is provided to give the idea a much better overall quality.

Types of plants

Landscaping a tank can be fun, and it is important to get different types of plants to give the idea that exotic look. There are many different ranges of aquatic plants. Tubers demands to be secured at the base to the bed of the tank. Floating plants apparently floating in the tank need not be anchored and will not usually require fertilizer. Rooted plants tubers must be anchored to the bottom of the tank, which is usually tied to pieces of stone or wood. These species usually grow to be relatively high and will help to fill the aquarium.

The nutrients and fertilizers needed for plant growth, carried by fish and water in the aquarium. It is rare that any extra allowances to request to be added. Filtration system is essential to maintain a healthy plant life in the tank. Under gravel filters restrict the composition of gravel, the plants have roots and produce a steady stream of bubbles that disturb the surface. All other forms of filtration systems to work well for plants, and it is good to keep water movement in the tank, but not too mush disturbance on the surface as CO2 is lost, crucial for the survival of plants.

Our fish is all content and fit in among our colorful aquatic vegetation.
