Usha Rani, one of the three nurses of Park Healthcare Hospital who was admitted in a critical condition at Yashoda hospital died late on Wednesday evening.
Usha Rani, 27, from Nalgonda was one of the three nurses admitted at Yashoda hospital following the fire mishap at Park Hospital on Tuesday. According to B Balaraju, medical superintendant of Yashoda hospital, Usha was a patient of asthma. Due to the smoke she inhaled her condition turned critical. “Yesterday when she was brought to the hospital she was unconscious and also suffered a mild cardiac arrest. Since then she had been kept on the ventilator,” the superintendant said.
Doctors said that the health condition of Respa, another nurse who was declared critical, had not improved in the last 24 hours and that she would have to be kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a longer time.
However, condition of the third nurse, Sandra, is said to be stable now though she too has been kept in the ICU for observation.
“Her condition has slightly improved but we will have to monitor her health for some more time,” Balaraju said.
Close to 30 para-medical staff, doctors and patients of Park who were shifted to Yashoda after the mishap were discharged on Wednesday morning. Some of the patients were shifted to other hospitals that the doctors attending to them are attached to.
