Indian students are being "singled out" and targeted in Australia, External Affairs Minister SM Krishna said on Tuesday, urging Canberra to do some introspection and address the issue.
“There are so many foreign students in Australia. Why such attacks happen on Indian students only? They are being singled out,” Krishna told reporters when asked about continuous attacks in Australia that have created a huge public outrage in India.
“This needs some introspection on the part of the Australian and New South Wales government,” he said.
Krishna said New Delhi had received no such complaints from the US where nearly 100,000 Indian students are studying.
