Pakistan suffered a 1-2 defeat against world champions Germany in their second and final warm-up match in New Delhi thanks to a last-minute goal by Matthias Withaus. Withaus scored both the goals for Germany off field attempts as the holders warmed up for their World Cup defence with a hard-fought win over the Pakistanis. For Pakistan, the only goal was scored by Muhammad Irfan off a penalty stroke. Asif Bajwa, the team manager, said that Pakistan were unlucky to lose the matches as they earned several goal-scoring opportunities but failed to capitalise on them. Bajwa said that Pakistan will go all out for a win against India in their World Cup opener on Sunday (tomorrow). “Our team is fully ready for the match against India and I’m confident that we will win it.”
