Markets rebound in the late morning trade


Markets have recovered from the low on buying in realty and metal stocks.

The Sensex is in the green at 16,050 - up eight points from its low. The Nifty is up three points at 4,796.

The BSE mid-cap and small-cap indices have outperformed the broader markets. The indices have added over 1% each.

The BSE consumer durables index has gained 2.4% to 4,053. The realty and metal indices are up 1-2% each.

Jaiprakash Associates has gained 2.2% at Rs 130. Hindalco has added 1.8% to Rs 137. Tata Steel has advanced 1% to Rs 529.

Grasim and ACC have added 1.5% each to Rs 2,729 and Rs 881, respectively.

DLF has gained 1.4% to Rs 311. Bharti Airtel, Sterlite and Reliance infrastructure have also moved up.

However, Sun Pharma has slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,519. Tata Powr and SBI have dropped around 1% each.

The market breadth is positive. Out of 2,449 stocks traded, 1,640 have advanced while 737 have declined.
