Opposition gears up to corner govt on prices

The budget session of the Rajasthan assembly beginning on Monday is likely to be a noisy one with the Opposition BJP all geared up to corner the government on issues of rising prices, water crisis, law and order and the reservation Act.

BJP has convened its legislature party meeting on Monday to finalise its strategy for the session. According to BJP sources the ‘undeclared ban on government jobs’ is a major issue that the Opposition plans to raise in the assembly.
Though the government has recently issued directions to RPSC to follow the old reservation formula in appointment till the Reservation Act that is pending the court is cleared, the Opposition leaders say there is an undeclared ban on appointment in government. “The government is not making fresh appointments on the pretext of reservation Act,” said a BJP MLA.

Another major issue likely to echo in the assembly session is the severe water crisis. The state is reeling under severe water crisis even before the summer season has started,” said the deputy leader of the Opposition, Ghanshyam Tiwari.
