Orissa Chief Minister Sets up First private STP in Orissa

Orissa chief minister, Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday inaugurated the state’s first private software technology park (STP) with ready-to-move-in
facilities that could accommodate about 1,000 Information Technology professionals.

The city-based JSS group has invested about Rs 10 crore in the first phase to set p the JSS Software Technology Park, which has been built a eight storied building with over 55,000 sq feet built-in space.

“Our group will invest additional Rs 70 crore in the second phase in the STP, scheduled to be completed in the next two years”, JSS Group chairman, Bijoy Sahu on Tuesday told “The ET”.

The total built up area of the project after the second phase expansion would be two lakh square feet. This could be customized and put to use in the least possible time for effective use by small and medium enterprise IT units

Besides offering ready to move-in built up space for IT and ITES units, it would also provide incubation facilities for start-ups at affordable rates.

Mr Patnaik in his inaugural address said his government would encourage such facilities on a public-private-partnership mode. "I am happy to see the overall ambience of the IT Park equipped with international standard infrastructure and facilities which can be customized and put to use in the least possible time for effective use by small and medium enterprise IT units”, he remarked adding that the STP could boost export of software and IT services in the state.
