With news abounding that most top Indian models will be a part of the fashion shows during IPL this season, there was much excitement in the air during the model auditions for the upcoming edition of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW).
However, this time, only 80 girls turned up for the auditions, fewer than the numbers that turned up last year. FDCI president Sunil Sethi told us, “You see, we only have to select 10 models from this pool. So, this is a good enough number.”
Jury decides: However, there were visible misgivings on the faces of many jury members, as most girls who walked the ramp were freshers. Designer Rahul Khanna, part of the jury, told us, “We’ll only be taking 5-6 of the best ones from this batch. So, there’s nothing much to worry about. Also, many seasoned models are considering walking for WIFW too.”
