True or Parrots Parrot - This is a grouping of the most common types of parrots. They are known as true parrots and are of the Psittacidae family of birds. Macaws - It is high, multicolored, intelligent and attractive birds. They are generally seen on TV and in movies. Although some researchers argue that this is an association of 18 different species, many species are now extinct.
