Choosing a dried dog food

There are so many types of dried dog food you can buy today that it is difficult to know which to choose. First we discuss what dried food is and how it compares with other dog foods.

Complete dry dog food has been baked hard biscuit in large pieces. It provides a great source of nutrition and can help keep teeth and gums in good condition as the creaking and chew of the dried food acts as an abrasive to teeth, removes plaque and stimulates gums. Complete dry dog food does not tend to have the same smell as the canned, wet food. It's also easy enough to serve you just pour the required amount directly into the dog bowl, no mixing required.

Most leading dog food brands like Eukanuba dog food, many develop ranges for their dog food, depending on whether your dog is puppy, adult, senior, special race or even have a sensitive stomach. But which foods are best for your puppy or adult dog?

If you have a puppy up to an age of around 18 months to look at the brands of puppy dog food. These are usually non-breed specific because puppy food contains different ingredients. All puppies, like human babies need more and less of certain nutrients and vitamins. Puppy food also tends to be divided by breed size as small (Shih Tzu), medium (Border Collie) or large (Bull Mastiff). Now you should be able to narrow your choice of puppy food by size and age.

When you choose a dog food brand for adult dogs can be a bit easier because most dog food manufacturers split their vary with the size of the dog or the specific breed. If you decide to choose the breed size, provided there are no health concerns, everything you have to do is select a brand and flavor (eg beef, chicken, fish, rabbit). Samples are ideal to find out your dogs favorite flavors!). Or go directly to a formula designed specifically for the breed, like Labrador dog food.

Other things to consider when choosing a dog food includes your own personal preferences. Brands such as Arden Grange is animal-friendly words. not tested on animals in product development. Price is also an important factor, it is far better for your puppy or adult dog to be fed the same brand and not to change too often, because it can cause an upset stomach, or your dog to go on "hunger strike". So do you want to be able to keep the cost of dog food on a regular and ongoing basis.

Handy Tip: Many households have more than one dog, so why not try to get them all on the same mark.
