IPL a good platform to get noticed

Saurabh Tiwary, the Mumbai Indians batsman, believes that a successful run in the Indian Premier League is a better way to get noticed by the national selectors than grinding it out in domestic cricket.

"You cannot compare the IPL to domestic cricket because even if you score 20 runs in this tournament, it gets coverage. But in domestic cricket it all depends on the media coverage - if that is good then your performance gets noticed," Tiwary, 20, told the Times of India.

Tiwary, who hails from Jharkhand, has had a good start to IPL 3, scoring 169 runs at a strike-rate of 146.95. His batting style and appearance have a striking resemblance to his more famous state senior, India captain MS Dhoni, which have inevitably led to comparisons. Tiwary acknowledged that Dhoni has had an impact on him, in the few games they have played together at the domestic level.
