MNS men target cell co for not using Marathi

A day after the Supreme Court castigated MNS leader Raj Thackeray for his hate speeches, his supporters in Mumbai and Thane went on the rampage, targeting two stores of a leading telecom service-provider for not having Marathi as one of the languages in its pre-recorded messages for subscribers.

One Airtel store had its glass facade broken by vandals in Bandra (West). A similar incident happened in Thane's Naupada when two boys armed with a cricket bat and iron rod walked towards the gallery and smashed the glass door. At both places, the miscreants did the job and vanished. Police rregistered cases against unknown people.

The Bandra incident, however, and Thackeray's speech earlier in the day — referring to Airtel's "tail" — were enough indicators of who was behind the vandalism. The Bandra store manager also said he had received a threat on an MNS letterhead and one of the stones that smashed the glass facade was wrapped in an MNS flag.
