Sensex flat on mixed Asian cues


Asian stock markets turned in a mixed performance on Friday, fluctuating as uncertainty over debt-laden Greece weighed on investors.

The 30-share index Sensex was up by 32 points at 17,551 while the broad-based index Nifty edged higher by 11 points at 5257.

All the 13 sectors were in positive zone while 22 out of 30 shares at Sensex were in the list of gainers. Bharti Airtel, JP Associates, Hindalco, Sterlite and Reliance communication displayed some strength. Sensex heavy weight Reliance Indultries was up by a quarter per cent, Larsen and Turbo edged higher by near 0.2 per cent while Infosys slipped by 0.35 per cent after hitting the lifetime high yesterday.

Healthcare stocks were the leading gainers followed by capital goods, PSU, power and metal indices. Healthcare index was up by near 0.9 per cent, capital goods advanced by 0.75 per cent while power, PSU and metal indices were showing a gain of around half a per cent.
