RANCHI/KOLKATA: State police have sought help from their Jharkhand counterpart before they launch the final assault against the Maoists campingin Jangalmahal.
On Wednesday, West Bengal Police chief Bhupinder Singh held a meeting with his Jharkhand counterpart V D Ram in Ranchi to chalk out the blueprint of a joint anti-Maoist operation.
During the two-hour-long meeting, both the DGPs agreed to improve the communication between the two forces so that there could be better coordination. Sources said the officers talked about free access to both forces so that they can launch a cross-border offensive against the Maoists if necessary. But the matter was not finalised due to some legal problems.
