Opposition takes the case to Governor


BANGALORE: A day after the government said no to its demand for a CBI
or a Lokayukta probe into the Shidlaghatta land acquisition row, the
Opposition parties on Thursday submitted a memorandum to Governor H R
Bharadwaj, asking him to consider their demand. Led by the Leaders of the
Opposition in the Assembly and Council, Siddaramaiah and V S Ugrappa,
and JD(S) floor leaders H D Revanna and M C Nanaiah, Congress and JD(S)
legislators submitted a joint memorandum seeking a CBI or Lokayukta
inquiry.
