7 Interesting Bird Facts

Who says that bird watching is boring? It is not! What's more, you do not have to be a geek, a protective or a science nut to assess how different bird looks, sounds and behaves. 
Birds are everywhere around us. They nest and roost on our buildings they live in our gardens, and they reject our landfills. They are easy to spot, and fun to watch. Here are some interesting bird facts to prove that point.


1. Vampire finches are not called vampires for nothing.

They drink other birds' blood ... and to their death! Scientists say this problem came from the bird's practice of eating the parasitic insects found in the birds' plumage.


2. Vultures can fly for hours without flapping their wings.


That's right! Not a flap, not a battle - and this ability helps to make them as an effective scavenger.


3. A hawk has a great vision.


Indeed, the Hawk's vision so sharp it can spot a mouse from one mile above!


4. The Peregrine Falcon is the world's fastest bird.


Do you know its speed exceeding 200 miles per hour? It is certainly more than your own speed limit!


5. A mother hen turns eggs about 50 times in one day.


There is a reason for this - if she does not want to keep the yolk sac to the idea! Mothers really do know best!


6. A chicken's earlobes will tell you what kind of eggs it can last.


If the earlobe is red, expects brown eggs. If the earlobe is white, expect white eggs.


7. A turkey can suffer a heart attack.


Laugh all you want, but it's been said that while the U.S. Air Force did test runs to break the sound barrier, the turkeys were loitering nearby suffered a heart attack ... and died.
