Birds are spectacular animals that, when properly cared for, make excellent pets. Birds generally have relatively difficult psyche. They are very social animals that need constant mental and emotional stimulation. Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, chewing is a way for a bird to relive anxiety and stress. Without things to chew, birds often resort to damaging activities such as plucking or self-mutilation.
