Birdhouse The Wrens

Unlike Purple Martins, which can be difficult to attract and retain in your garden, give a little habit of Wrens are easy and fun. Wrens will inhabit anywhere that will keep their nest, increasing your chances of choosing a wren house. These Birdhouse can be mounted on a tree trunk or post, or easily hung from a branch.

Choose a location that is six to ten meters above ground. Providing food and shelter will also attract a wren to your Birdhouse. Unlike Martin, who perform better in the great plains, Wrens prefer to be near trees and shrubs. Keep this point in mind when choosing a place to put your Birdhouse. If you put up a Birdhouse, why not put up one or two more? Male Wrens will often keep two females in separate bird houses. You have nothing to lose by offering a few more housing options.

Wrens are sociable birds and do not mind being close to your home. This makes them particularly fun to watch and keep track of. They are also excellent to keep the birds around the garden. Wrens feed on insects such as caterpillars, aphids, grasshoppers, beetles and snails. They will appreciate the smorgasbord of insects in the garden, and you will enjoy while your house Wrens eat pests that eat plants in the garden.
