Info tech must for sustainable progress

Patna University (PU) vice-chancellor Shyam Lal said here on Friday that information communication technology has converted the entire

world community into a global village making it important for each individual to be aware of this technology.

Inaugurating a 21-day UGC-sponsored refresher course on information technology and e-learning organized by Magadh Mahila College (MMC), Lal observed that now-a-days people can easily explore the vast store of knowledge with the help of information technology and use that for the development of the society. They can also master new subjects with the help of e-learning.

Praising the all-round development made by the college, he said that the institution has developed as a centre of excellence in the IT field and has the potential to be considered for running a separate department for computer education.

More than 20 lecturers and senior lecturers from various universities of Bihar, Jharkhand and other states are attending the refresher course.

MMC principal and course coordinator Dolly Sinha detailed the objectives of the course. She also highlighted the achievements of the college with special reference to the department of computer applications.
