A preliminary medical report on the death of AMU Reader Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras suggests he died due to poisoning.
“His death was not due to natural causes. Traces of poison were found in his stomach,” said Maan Singh Chauhan, SP (City), Aligarh. “There were blue spots on the body, his nails were blue.”
The viscera has been preserved for examination. His family in Nagpur has been informed and the body will be taken there for the last rites.
Meanwhile, the AMU letter revoking the suspension of Siras reached his department today, a day after he was found dead at his residence.
