There, it appears, they make babies through computers and she does not know what a kiss is. Perfect for our loser lover boy, who though on earth, is facing the same dilemma as the girl from Venus. Never been kissed!

Girl from Venus wants to fall in love with the reigning super star on earth Desh (Ruslaan Mumtaz). It appears that Desh is the envy of Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra is 'just good friends with him' and Farah Khan, though besotted by SRK, is shooting with Desh.

Aamir Khan to host Kaun Banega Crorepati 4

Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan is likely to host the fourth season of TV's most popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati?, according to unconfirmed reports.

In the past superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan have played hosts. While Big B hosted the first and second season, SRK took over the reigns from him for the third season.

Reports also suggest that Aamir, who is riding high on the success of 3 Idiots, is still undecided. Let's hope we get to see Aamir soon on the small screen.

Michelle McGee was obsessed with Jesse James

Michelle Bombshell McGee's ex Shane Modica has claimed that the tattoo model was "obsessed" with Sandra Bullock's hubby Jesse James. "I believe she was obsessed with Jesse James," CBS News quoted Modica as telling The Insider.

"We had had problems during the marriage." Modica said McGee was so crazy about James that she even changed their wedding snaps by pasting a picture of the former Monster Garage host on top of his own.

Modica and McGee had a bitter split and are now engaged in a battle for their child's custody.

Deepika mingling with Mallya's son

DeepikaThe IPL is seeing action both on and off the pitch. The buzz is that Ranbir Kapoor's ex, Deepika is happily mingling with Vijay Mallya's son, Siddharth.

Apparently, the duo has been spotted laughing and chatting together during the IPL matches. Deepika, who is supporting Mallya's team, Royal Challengers has proved lucky for the team.

A website reports that when his team thrashed Kings XI Punjab in Bangalore, Siddharth jumped with joy and almost started dancing in the stadium. He spontaneously turned to Deepika and exclaimed, "You are my lucky mascot. I will get you a big gift tonight."

The Hurt Locker art director praises

Oscar winning film The Hurt Locker's art director David Bryan is set to make his Bollywood debut with Abbas Tyrewala's next film, a romantic comedy based in London starring John Abraham.

       

Bryan, who was widely praised for his life like replication of the battle scarred streets of Iraq in Jordan for the six Academy Award winning film, has been signed as the production designer for Tyrewala's 1-800-Love.

       

Speaking about his experience in the film, Bryan said, "We wanted to portray the real London that is rarely seen, it's an amazing city with very diverse locations. In particular we were looking for a real iconic Studio Apartment for our lead actor John Abraham. Later in Autumn, the climax to the film grew into an epic 4 nights filming on Tower Bridge with John doing his own stunts, a real star."

       

The Jane Tu Ya Jane Na director is leaving no stone unturned to recruit talented people to mount his next venture on a large beautiful canvas.

Oscar viewership figures, highest in past five years

The 82nd Annual Academy Awards were watched by over 41 million viewers in the US, the largest audience for the Oscars in the past five years.

Nearly 41.3 million US viewers watched the three-and- -a-half hour long ceremony held at the Kodak theatre on March 7, hosted by actors Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, according to Nielsen Media research company.

This was 14 per cent more than the 36.3 million US viewers for 2009's Academy Awards, in which Mumbai based potboiler Slumdog Millionaire won the Best Picture trophy.

According to the Nielsen figures, this year's Oscars audience was the largest since the 2005 awards, when 42.1 million viewers watched the annual event.

Oscar viewership sank to a record low in 2008, when 32.01 million tuned in to watch the ceremony.

The king of comedies Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn has become the king of comedies, literally. He seems to be enjoying it more than action, which was his earlier forte. After the success of Golmaal- Fun Unlimited, Golmaal Returns and All The Best, he is set to rock with Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?, another comedy.

“Right scripts have been coming my way and I find myself enjoying comedies as much as action films. Perfect timing coupled with the right dose of humour brings out the best in any actor. Fortunately, I seem to have found a right footing here,” says Ajay during a long distance call from Karaikudi in Tamil Nadu where he is shooting for Priyadarshan’s film Garam Hawa.

Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?, he says, is a comedy, but with a touch of emotion. “It falls in the Hrishikesh Mukherjee genre. I am not comparing this film with his work, yet I would like to say that the feel and the emotions will be liked by all. It has clean humour yet quite ribtickling. A sweet film, it will have people coming out of the theatres smiling and laughing,” promises Ajay, who has been a fan of Hrishida and manages to catch his films whenever he finds the time. “All his films are great and Chupke Chupke is one of my favourites,” shares Ajay.

You’re the first U.S.-based producer to make a Hindi language film; Why did you choose to do so?

It wasn’t a choice of making a Hindi language film or not. It was more a choice of ‘Should I make Road, Movie or not?’. I got involved, and I saw it was entirely appropriate. It would be strange to see characters in the middle of the desert speaking English. I made a film in English called Marigold, with an American girl going to Mumbai and acting, but this isn’t Marigold. The choice was made by Dev Benegal, he was the filmmaker and I support the filmmaker.

Bollywood attends Ambani's party

Bollywood superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh descended at the Grand Hyatt hotel here for a party organised by Industrialist Anil Ambani. Shahrukh Khan expressed his happiness that the corporates have entered the film industry and that they have an organized way of making films from detail to production.

"It is really nice to know that corporates have entered our film industry. Of course, Reliance Big Pictures is doing very well. I was surprised to know that they are doing so many things, which we were not aware of," said Khan.

"We always thought they are just distributing and producing, but I think there is lot of back end work and lot of international stuff. This is commendable and very welcoming that we can have an organized way of making films from top to end and from detail to production," he added. Other Bollywood stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Arjun Rampal, Rekha and Shahid Kapoor were also present at the venue.

Abhishek Bachchan said that he was there to celebrate the success of his latest film Paa. "We are looking forward to a fun time. We are here to celebrate the success of Paa. With reliance our team has been very fruitful. I am very happy that with our very first venture itself, we have tasted success and we hope we can repeat it," said Abhishek.

Gollywood seems to be catching up with reality

Gollywood is in for a serious makeover. Gone are the days of kedia clad heroes chasing women in chania cholis in the farms. The new Gujarati films now address a progressive Gujarati youth in modern times.

For instance the upcoming movie, Better Half ' is centred around gender issues and individuals' conflicts in the new urban environment. The film is about a working couple and the woman is depicted as being professionally ambitious.

The script consultant in this film is Pubali Chaudhari of Rock On' fame. Chaudhari is currently writing Farhan Akhtar's latest film "Three mistakes of my life" based on Chetan Bhagat's novel. The playback singer is none other than the famous bollywood artist Shaan.

The film is due to be released in multiplexes on coming Friday. Heroine Neha Mehta, a popular face on television, is shown tapping away at her laptop. Dharmendra Gohil, well-known actor in Mumbai theatre circles, is playing the husband.

Writer-director of the film, Ashish Kakkad says, "It's simple Gujarati film which talks about today's generation. The two protagonists, husband and wife, are deeply involved in their respective careers. The heroine is an architect and dreams of working on interesting projects and making it big in whatever she does. This creates problems in their marriage."

Shahid Kapoor on spiritual quest before next film

A sudden change in work schedule made Shahid Kapoor a nervous wreck last month. A timely visit to his father Pankaj Kapoor's spiritual guru in the hills however revealed to him the virtues of stillness in an overactive lifestyle.

Having finished all his assignments, the actor has no projects on hand at the moment apart from his dad's film "Mausam".

Shahid told IANS, "All I can say is faith makes all things possible. That's why it's called a leap of faith. I was working 20 hours a day till Jan 20. I was working insanely. When I woke up on Jan 21, I had no work to go to.

"Initially I felt a sense of freedom. Then immediately it was followed by panic...what do I do with myself? I've become an insomniac and started tweeting at 4 a.m. I don't feel tired. I feel I haven't earned the right to rest. And I don't know what to do with myself!"

However, here is the upside. "Every time I've sat at home without work, it has worked for my career. I did it before 'Vivah' and before 'Jab We Met'."

Shahid will be doing only one film in 2010 and that is his father's "Mausam". He will serve as a hands-on technician, spotboy whatever for the project.

The film is an incoherent mess

Teen Patti  is the kind of film that makes you want to send everyone associated with it for a urine test so you can confirm whether they had drugs in their system while making this senseless movie. For two hours and twenty minutes I sat in stunned silence as thefilm unfolded, desperately trying to figure out how and why something like this was made.

Teen Patti  has so many things wrong with it that a review threatens to become a list. Let me start with the most obvious: The film's trailers have already revealed its likeness to the Kevin Spacey-starrer "21", but the makers of Teen Patti  don't even have the skills to plagiarize competently.

In "21", a greedy university professor and his students figure out how to count cards and make a killing at Vegas casinos. In Teen Patti , a well-meaning professor is coerced and subsequently blackmailed into gambling for money.

Katrina chooses Hrithik over Ranbir

A recent development in Bollywood gives a new twist to the Katrina Kaif-Ranbir Kapoor business. The sexy actress has apparently pulled out of a film with the Kapoor scion for Imtiaz Ali in favour of hottie Hrithik Roshan in Zoya Akhtar’s next.

Don’t put two and two together and make 22! It’s just that Katz could not give dates to both directors. She would love to do Imtiaz’s film with Ranbir, naturally, but Zoya was offering her a role and a costar that Katz just couldn’t say no to. Yes, Katz and Ranbir are cute on screen, but she and Hrithik — two of Bollywood’s most beautiful — will be a hot, new jodi. Katz, incidentally, finds herself with a clutch of films and no dates on hand.

She begins shooting for Tees Maar Khan soon and then Dostana 2. But right now, the buzz is about Zoya’s film. The industry is wondering whether Hrithik will also have hot kissing scenes with Katz after his experiences with Latino bombshell Barbara Mori in Kites.

Amidst controversy Shahrukh drops Todi

The year 2010 seems to be a year of controversy for Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan. No sooner did the actor come out of the controversy around the release of his movie My Name Is Khan amidst protests by the Shiv Sena he finds himself locked in another one. If it was supporting the cause of the Pakistani players in the IPL which agitated the Sena, it is the endorsement deal for his team Kolkata Knight Riders which is giving Shahrukh headaches now.

Shahrukh had struck a deal with the inner wear brand Lux Cozy and he was appointed it's brand ambassador. Lux Cozy which is owned by Ashok Todi and Pradip Todi in turn sponsored the uniforms for the Kolkata Knight Riders team. Ashok Todi is facing court trial for the murder of graphics designer Rizwanur Rehman, a Muslim, after he married his daughter Priyanka. The case had also led to the removal of the then Kolkata Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee.

Many in Kolkata have been upset over Shahrukh's tie-up with the Todis. Some religious groups had also called for the boycott of his movie My Name Is Khan when it released on February 12. To add to Shahrukh's woes artistes, actors, dancers, writers and performers are also expressing their opposition to the controversial tie-up. Shahrukh who will need the entire city to rally behind him in the upcoming IPL will find it hard to continue with the deal.

Tolly facelift

A team of film-makers, producers and members of the Artistes’ Forum met at actor Ranjit Mullick’s home on Thursday to discuss a proposal on infrastructure upgrade of Tollywood, to be sent to the central government.

The meeting was organised after Mamata Banerjee recently interacted with representatives of the film industry and assured them that she would draw the information and broadcasting ministry’s attention towards Tollywood.

Reviving two ailing post-production facilities — NFDC Film Centre in Behala and Rupayan in Salt Lake — tops the Tolly turnaround list.

“The equipment at these two places have not been upgraded. There’s no infrastructure to support modern film-making, so we have to travel to Mumbai and Chennai for post-production,” said director Haranath Chakraborty, who steered Thursday’s meeting.

The proposal, which will be sent to the minister of state for I&B, C.M. Jatua, will focus only on the NFDC studio.

Ajith remarks mark battle lines in Kollywood

The Tamil film industry, which saw cracks appearing in its unity when actor Ajith Kumar expressed his displeasure over actors being forced to attend functions, turned into a battle ground on Friday as it witnessed a war of words and an attack on the house of stunt master Jaguar Thangam. The stunt master’s wife was injured in the attack.

Thangam, who expressed resentment at the non-inclusion of Ajith’s name in the FIR of a case relating to the throwing of stones at his house on Wednesday, was getting ready to go and meet the Chief Minister when a group of men, on three motorbikes, pelted stones at his house in MGR Nagar around 5 pm.

One of the stones landed on Thangam’s wife, Shanti, and she was taken to hospital for treatment.

Whatever happened to the few policemen deployed outside the house in the morning was not known.

Police pickets were also posted outside the house of Ajith as tinsel town stood divided with battle lines drawn.
