Buy a Spacious parrot cage for your pet parrots

A small parrot does not mean a small parrot cage

Even small parakeets should be a large parrot cage, which should be at least 18 inches wide, 14 inches deep and 22 inches high. This is only the minimum requirements and you can build as large a cage as you want. The bird should at least be able to fly around a little, folding wings and jump between perches. These activities will ensure that your parrot is a happy, stress free and healthy.

Larger parrots also need some space

For larger parrots, cage should be at least 40 inches long, because their wings are larger than parakeets. Parrot cage must be high enough so that the parrots tail does not touch the bottom of the cage when it sits on any of the perches. You must have a seat over the head of a parrot, so you can hang some bird toys. The bird feels stifled when there is not much space (or toys) in the parrot cage. Parrots prefer their cage to be square, rectangular or hexagonal shape. Corners are very necessary, that the birds may have some sense of direction. There is no reference in a rounded parrot cage, so it is difficult for the parrot to know which direction it is in. The lack of sense of direction makes the bird restless and confused. Birds prefer horizontal bars, compared with vertical lines since transverse also serve as additional perches.

Parrots should not Miss their homes

When parrots are in the jungle, their lives are full of activity and flying from one tree to another comes naturally to them. The owners aim should be to provide for the parrots lose their original home as little as possible. Therefore you have to hang extra bird toys and ensure that the parrot's life is full of activity even in the parrot cage. Parrots should have the opportunity to interact with their owners as much as possible and they should be able to feel a part of their owner's body (eg finger or face) from the cage.

Change bird toys often

If the same toys hanging near the parrots in a long time, they get bored easily. A practical solution may be to use some homemade bird toys so they can change frequently. Leather toys should be avoided because they are sticky because of the nectar feeding.

Powder for Cage

If you have painted the parrot cage, you should go to powder coating rather than the conventional way of painting. There should be no sharp objects in the parrot cage, because the birds are vulnerable to them. Popular parrot cage materials, wrought iron, stainless steel, wire, bamboo, plastic and wood. Cages made of wood, plastic and bamboo is not likely to last very long as those made of metals tend to last longer. Therefore, if you see a parrot cage as a long term investment, you should go to metal cages. You should avoid lead and zinc, because both these metals are harmful to birds.
